Beautiful shaped lounge chair model Mette designed by Danish designers Arnold Madsen & Henry Schubell and manufactured by Bovenkamp, The Netherlands 1960. This low back ladies chair has a solid oak wooden frame and teak wooden arm rests. The frame has a sculptural look by means of the open structure of the frame that is based on round forms combined with sharp lines. This design is pure and clean in its appearance due to its lack of unnecessary decoration. In the meantime, the slightly long shaped backrest and the sleek legs create a very calming and weightless appearance. It is upholstered with a cream wool fabric and the wood is fully restored with preservation of the authenticity. This well-crafted lounge chair is marked underneath the seat on the wood with a stamp “Bovenkamp”.
Arnold Madsen was contracted by Bovenkamp to work for them end 1950’s begin of the 1960’s. He designed and helped Bovenkamp to integrate Danish influences and craftsmanship in their furniture making.
