Fantastic shaped brutalist coffee table by Idir Mecibah, produced by Smederij Moerman 1998. This table is from the scrab series designed in the end of the 1980s and produced till the end of the 1990s. It’s made of solid steel with gold leaf square in the middle and it has forged steel legs welded to the top. Beautiful coffee table in very good original condition.
Idir Mecibah died at the age of 45, in Antwerp Belgium This designer was just getting started and had also just signed a contact with the Belgian top furniture brand Durlet. Most of his furniture is not being produced anymore and therefore will be collectibles.
