Very decorative handmade pair of sheep designed by Hanns Peter Krafft and manufactured by Meier, Germany 1970. These life-sized sheep show a clear inspiration drawn from Francois Xavier Lalanne’s iconic designs of the 1960s. They are made of carved pinewood covered with authentic wool sheepskin and features cognac leather ears and plastic eyes. The hooves show a nice, shaped form. These sheep were commonly used as promotional material for textile shops, but also as a decorative item in an interior or even as stools.
These life-sized sheep are in very good original condition with nice patina due time. They add so much character and make a statement in any room. An incredible catch for any modern home, office or interior.
Hanns-Peter Krafft, born in 1948, has been working exclusively for only one enterprise and for his project Meier Germany. The target of this cooperation is the realization of the idea of developing an individual enterprise with a sophisticated profile: one man, one personality, one company. As art director Krafft is solely responsible for the design of the complete range of Meier products and all services, for the overall appearance of the corporate identity of Meier Germany for forty years. A concise ecological imperative is the basis for all activities: “Develop a product people want to keep for the rest of their lives!“
