Very nice large set of eight 1st edition “Result” dining chairs designed by Friso Kramer for Ahrend de Cirkel, The Netherlands 1958. These chairs have an original red lacquered metal frame with V structure legs which is very nice in combination with the birch plywood seat and back. This red colored frame is very rare, especially in a set of eight. The chairs seat really comfortable they have a very nice patina from several years of usage, this gives them a nice industrial look. The chairs are marked with a stamp “19 Sep 1960” underneath the seats. A real nice catch for any modern home, office or interior.
The Result chair was a collaboration between Wim Rietveld who has switched from Gispen to the competitive company Ahrend and Friso Kramer who invited Wim Rietveld to come work at Ahrend de Cirkel. The influences of both Kramer and Rietveld are strongly visible in this chair that was originally designed as a school chair to compete with the tubular chairs from that time that were more expensive to make.
