Beautiful shaped set of four dining chairs model SB 02 designed by Cees Braakman for UMS Pastoe, The Netherlands 1952. These well-crafted chairs from are from the Combex series. Cees Braakman was clearly inspired by the works of Charles & Ray Eames, having been on a recce to the US to learn about new methods in bent plywood. They are made from birch plywood with a warm teak veneer seat and back. A very nice detail is that seating and backrest are 'floating'.
This stunning set is in very good original condition. The chairs are marked underneath the seats with a metal tag. They are priced and only for sale in the set of four. A real nice catch for any modern home, office or interior.
