Fantastic and unique sideboard designed and manufactured by Bosteels Meubelen in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium 1960. This amazing sideboard is made of beautifully grained walnut supported by six sculpted solid walnut legs. It has four large sliding doors with shelves behind and on the right there are five drawers with brass handles. The doors can be locked and all original keys are included. Beautiful detailed like the wenge wood handles and tapered legs with bolt feet. This high quality well-crafted sideboard is very unique, most probably custom made for the first owner. Because of its size it gives you plenty of storage space inside. The sideboard was very well treated by the first owner and is therefore still in very good original condition with normal wear and tear due to age and use. An incredible catch for any modern home, office or interior.
The furniture store Bosteels was founded in 1889 by Arthur Bosteels, a baker's son from Tielrode. He learns the trade of furniture makers in Paris and Lyon. In the center of Sint-Niklaas, the business is continued until 2013 by his two grandsons. Bosteels mainly creates modern furniture at the request and size of the customer. At the 1958 World Expo, they help to set up the Vatican Pavilion. In addition, they also supply the bishop's throne of the Antwerp Cathedral and the choir stalls of Chevetogne Abbey.
