Rare and incredible armchair model FD-186 designed by Arne Vodder for France & Søn, Denmark 1957. This armchair has a base made of solid teak wood and the seat is newly upholstered in high quality black leather which contrasts beautifully with the warm teak wood. The curved seat is form-fitting and achieve a stunning floating effect with the help of concealed dowel construction. The cane backrest, framed by birch, pivots on brass fittings so that it moves as you lean back for optimal comfort. It featuring sculpted details throughout - the ball carved tops of the back legs that frame and support the shield shaped caned backrest, the curved, floating seat, and all the detailing on the cross braces. This chair is a showstopper from every angle.
This chair is in excellent condition, the wood it is totally refinished with a high quality UV and water protective lacquer with preservation of authenticity and the seat is newly upholstered with high quality black leather. Original “France & Son” tag attached underneath the seat. An incredible catch for any modern home, office or interior.
