Beautiful and comfortable “Bastiano” 2-seater sofa designed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa for Gavina, Italy 1962. This very warm and luxury sofa has a solid teak frame with original black leather cushions. It seat very comfortable as it has thick cushions that fall into the frame. The frame therefore functions as a basket that holds the thick, comfortable cushions together. The deep black leather has a light patinated look, which gives a characteristic feel to it. The “Bastiano” is a popular model from the Scarpa duo and are very recognizable due to its minimalistic frame. There a only a few points where the frame is secured. This sofa can also be used in free standing in a space as it is perfectly finished all around. Marked with a “Gavina” sticker on the frame. A really nice catch for any modern home, living room or interior.
